Bulk Sewer To Southern Paarl Phase 3: Portion 3

Construction of a 900 mm diameter reinforced concrete HDPE lined bulk sewer pipeline (approximately 1800 m length) at depths of up to 8 m, including manhole structures, diversion and grit trap structures, N1 National Road crossing by means of trenchless methods, Palmiet River crossing, Berg River crossing by means of a depressed sewer (siphon).
Lyners was responsible for preliminary design, detail design, tender documentation and construction contract administration. The pipeline route through the Paarl Arboretum which houses sensitive trees of great importance to the Drakenstein Municipality, was a significant design challenge that was successfully overcome.
